Background
Cellcast is the world's largest developer of participation TV formats and the most prolific producer of live interactive pay-to-play programming.
As a result of the evolving use of mobile telephones, Cellcast has pioneered innovative strategies that allow the integration of mobile technology into the multichannel television environment, providing a personal entertainment experience for viewers.
Cellcast started with only two hours of airtime on one channel, but due to their development skills the group now broadcasts more than 50 hours of live content over a number of channels.
Cellcast established the UK's first live, interactive, reverse auction TV show in March 2005 through the introduction of Bid2Win on the Game Network channel. Bid2Win takes audience participation to the next level as it provides viewers with the opportunity to participate in a dynamic, real-time auction via their mobile phones.
Requirements and Solutions
In order for Cellcast to continue their development projects they need media solutions assistance in order to transmit to Sky.
EBS works with Cellcast to produce schedules which coincide with the group's TV formats and solutions as well supporting Sky and Ofcom regulations. EBS provides Cellcast with EPGs and compliance recording for several of their channels, guaranteeing that they comply with Ofcom regulations.
Using our in-house program Digigate, EBS is able to send Cellcast's schedules through to Sky in a format which is then transferred to the Sky platform.
"EBS has provided Cellcast with an excellent service to date which has enabled us to maintain our EPG with minimum effort. We are moving towards expanding the inclusion of the EPG in our broadband and mobile services and look forward to developing our relationship further in 2006."
